When you get a tattoo, the ink is deposited into the second layer of your skin (the dermis). The ink particles are too big for your body to absorb, which is what makes tattoos permanent.

The laser uses heat to break apart these ink particles so that they are small enough for your body to absorb. Over the weeks following your laser session, your tattoo will begin to fade.

All tattoos and bodies are different, so it’s hard to say how many sessions you will need, or if complete removal is possible.
